A Lasting Smile
Dental veneers are an excellent option for people looking to permanently restore or improve their smiles. In just two or three dental visits, a veneer can reverse years of stains caused by foods, caffeine and tobacco use.
Special thin laminates, called veneers, can often be used to correct discolored, worn down, cracked and chipped teeth. Veneers can also be used to close unsightly gaps between teeth. Stronger types of veneers made of porcelain, also called composite veneers, last longer because they are bonded directly to the tooth.

To make veneers uniquely designed to fit your teeth, an impression of the tooth must be made before it is then molded by a lab technician. Don’t worry though, our digital impressions mean that you won’t need to bite down on a tray full of goop to get your impressions made!
The process involves first buffing the tooth to remove an extremely thin layer of enamel. This allows for the thickness of the veneer once it is bonded. Next, an impression of the tooth is made, and is used to create the unique veneer. Finally, Dr. Gairhan will bond the veneer to the tooth with special cement. A special bonding light is used to complete the process.
Yes! Most patients have no issues eating, drinking, or speaking normally with their veneers. It may take you a few days to get used to the feel of your new veneers, but you’ll feel back to normal in no time. If something does not feel right in your bite or teeth after a few days of adjustment, contact Dr. Gairhan for an assessment.
Porcelain veneers having many distinct advantages. They are durable, long-lasting, and don’t easily stain. They also have a naturally looking surface to blend in seamlessly with your other teeth. Finally, porcelain enamel requires less tooth enamel be removed than with a crown or cap.
With proper care, veneers are a permanent dental fixture. Because veneers require a small amount of enamel to be removed from the tooth they are bonded to, they are permanent and non-reversible. If you veneers become loose or damaged over time, you will need to replace them with new ones.
Yes, veneers can break or chip under unusual pressure. For this reason, finger-nail biting, and chewing hard objects such as pencils or ice should be avoided. Teeth grinding can also damage your veneers over time. If you chronically grind your teeth, veneers may not be the best option for you.
Keep your veneers, teeth, and gums clean by flossing and brushing every day. Teeth can still get cavities around and underneath your veneers without proper care, so it is important to keep up good dental hygiene.
Before you get veneers, it is important that your teeth and gums are healthy. Dr. Gairhan will work with you to ensure your teeth and gums are in good health and ready to accept your new veneers.
